With the clock at 59 seconds, the Polar Bears up 7 over perenial powerhouse Morgantown, and 80 yards to go for the Mohigans, it looked like the Bears might break the long losing streak against the neighboring county school. However, the Morgantown Mohigans indeed tied the score and won in overtime after sophomore quarterback Moore threw an interception. When the Mohigans got their chance they put the ball in the end zone for the instant win.

Quarterback Jamie Allard completed 8 of 13 passes for 253 yards and three touchdowns and added a 12-yard TD run to engineer Fairmont Senior's freshman football team past Preston, 51-6 Wednesday.
Marcus Jacquez was on the receiving end of all three Allard touchdown passes covering 186 yards.
Octavius Jones had a 30-yard TD run and caught a 32-yard pass.

Admittedly an impressive squad of starters returned from last year’s Class AAA state quarterfinal squad. Meanwhile, FSHS lost a wealth of talent from its state semifinal team, which prompted many to look for a run away.
However, the Polar Bears must not have read the doomsday reports and nearly surprised RCB Friday night.

Kyle Allard Wins Kennedy Award
Quarterback Kyle Allard shattered FSHS records. Allard connected on 25 of 34 tosses for 320 yards with 4 touchdowns in the Nitro playoff game. With that performance, Allard's season totals increased to record numbers: 2,681 yards, 33 touchdowns, and only six interceptions. Allard has broken single-season school and North Central Athletic Conference records for touchdown passes (29) and the school record for yards (2,380).
Allard becomes only the second FSHS winner, Larry Drake, was the first from the class of 1959.
