At the conclusion of the 86th Annual East-West Game, the fans knew they had observed something very special. The Times WV sportswriter, Mike Bowen called it “One For The Ages”. Listening to the radio and analyzing on the phone, two old friends, Bob DeLorenzo and Skip Delligatti, who had shared countless hours at the stadium and on the sidelines, shared one last conversation together. With the dawn, Bob’s high school sweetheart and wife of forty three years discovered that he had died in his sleep. He, too, could be described as one for the ages.
