Girls Open With Big Win

BUCKHANNON — Brooklyn Little scored 21 points to lead four Fairmont Senior players in double figures as the Polar Bears routed Buckhannon Thursday, 80-31.

Katie Nunan score 13 and Kaitlinn O’Neal and Jaime Feltz both added 10 to lead the Bears to the season-opening win.

“We wanted to come out and play well and we did,” Fairmont Senior head coach Ashley Reed said. “The girls were ready to play someone other than Fairmont Senior and played well together.”

Also scoring or FSHS was Jenai Stubbs (8), Aryssa Hudson (6), Anna Starkey (5), Haley Rosenberger (4) and Gabby Tenney (3).

The Polar Bears (1-0, 1-0 in the North Central Athletic Conference) will return to action on Saturday when they travel to take on Nicholas County.
