Girls Fall on the Road

SUMMERSVILLE — Host Nicholas County broke open a close game Saturday en route to a 48-34 victory over Fairmont Senior.

“We gave up too many easy baskets” Fairmont Senior coach Ashley Reed said. “We just didn’t play that well.”

The Polar Bears (1-1) kept it close early, trailing 14-12 after one period and 21-19 at the half. Nicholas County widened the gap slighty soon after.

Jenai Stubbs paced Fairmont Senior with eight points, Gabby Tenney added seven and Katie Nunan had six.

Fairmont Senior is back in action Tuesday when it visits University.
