54-42 Win

FAIRMONT — Fairmont Senior’s girls’ basketball team overcame a slow start and a poor shooting night to defeat Buckhannon Monday, 54-42.

Kaitlinn O’Neal led the Polar Bears with 15 points. Katie Nunan scored 14 and Brooklyn Little added seven.

“It was a slow start and we couldn’t throw the ball in the ocean,” Fairmont Senior head coach Ashley Reed said. “But we’re happy to come out with a win.”

The Bears will host crosstown rival East Fairmont tonight at 7:30 p.m.
